Phase in chemistry means any of the states that a substance can enter. In these cases, the physical and chemical properties of the substance may change. The three main phases of matter are solid, liquid and gas.
1- Solid phase: In the solid phase, the molecules and ions of matter are tightly connected and are in a specific structural pattern. This phase usually has a specific volume and shape and is highly resistant to changes in temperature and pressure. Some famous examples of solid phase are chemical crystals such as diamond, gold, silver, chocolate crystals and ice crystals.
2- Liquid phase: In the liquid phase, the molecules and ions of matter are tightly combined with each other, but they are moving freely and do not have a special order mechanism. This phase has a changeable volume and shape and can participate in various chemical reactions and physical processes. Some famous examples of liquid phase are water, oil, alcohol and various chemicals.
3- Gas phase: In the gas phase, the molecules and ions of matter move freely in space and the distance between them is very large. This phase does not have a specific volume and shape and can easily move in empty spaces. Gas phase is used in many chemical and industrial processes and some famous examples of gas phase are air, petroleum gases, carbon dioxide and other chemicals.
فاز به حالت یک ماده گفته میشود.
منظور از فاز در فیزیک زاویه میباشد.
A homogeneous and specific part of a substance in which the physical properties and chemical structure change continuously (not discretely) is called a phase.
Each phase is separated from its adjacent phases by real boundaries, in which the properties change discretely.
It is not necessary that this distinguishable part of the material is continuous. For example, a liquid dispersed inside another liquid creates a two-phase system.
Gases are completely dissolved in each other, so they are always considered single phase.
The homogeneity of a phase does not mean the existence of a specific and precise chemical composition because changing the composition (continuously) for example in liquid or solid solutions does not disturb their homogeneity.
