This project is under the title of school dormitory management system. This is a web based application project developed in PHP and MySQL database. This project provides an online and automated platform for university or college hostels to manage their collections and monthly records. The system includes several features that include student dormitory accounts. This program is developed with Bootstrap framework and AdminLTE template. It consists of user-friendly features and capabilities.

This school dormitory management system can only be accessed by the administration. Access to the features and functions of the system is possible only by registered users of the system. System users have 2 types of roles, which are manager and employee. Both users must log in with their system credentials to access the app's features and functionality. Administrator users have the privilege to access and manage all system features and capabilities while staff users have only limited permissions.

This dormitory management system allows the administration to manage the list of dormitory buildings, rooms in each dormitory and student accounts. When using the system for the first time, the administration must first fill the list of dormitories, rooms and students. Users create an account for a student and assign them to a room with an available slot. A student with an active account is automatically removed from the student options when the account is created. Also, the room option in the account registry only lists rooms that have available slots.

The system is developed with user-friendly features and functions with CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) operations. It can help the school management to manage the collections and records of hostels accounts efficiently and effectively.

• Download and install any local web server like XAMPP.
• Download the provided source zip code file. (The download button is below)

System installation

1. Activate the GD library in your php.ini file.
2. Open your XAMPP control panel and start Apache and MySQL.
3. Extract the zip file of the downloaded source code.
4. Copy the extracted source code folder and place it in XAMPP's "htdocs" directory.
5. Browse PHPMyAdmin in a browser. That is http://localhost/phpmyadmin
